Eric Hofbauer Quintet

DOT Jazz Series

Greater Ashmont Main Street and Mandorla Music Series are very pleased to co-present the 2017-2018 quarterly Dot Jazz Series at Peabody Hall in the Parish of All Saints Ashmont. Doors open at 7pm and the $15 ticket includes dessert as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Wine will be available too. Dates for the series as a whole are 8/10/17, 11/9/17, 2/15/17, & 5/10/17

This February date will feature the Eric Hofbauer Quintet. The quintet features Eric Hofbauer on guitar, Todd Brunel on clarinet and bass clarinet, Jerry Sabatini on trumpet, Junko Fujiwara on cello and Curt Newton on drum set. All of the musicians are accomplished jazz and new music improvisers who also perform in classical and modern music settings. Hofbauers quintet arrangements celebrate the common ground between modern jazz and the works of such 20th century composers as Stravinsky, Messiaen, Ives and Ellington. Their Fall 2017 release features Hofbauers arrangement of 'Reminiscing in Tempo,' a rare, long-form, through composed piece from 1935 by Duke Ellington.
